New Delhi, May 28 (IANS) After the hectic activity surrounding the Lok Sabha, Game of Thrones, and Avengers Endgame elections ended, social media users in India are now busy creating memes, GIFs, and JCB excavator hashtags and no one seems know exactly why.

Searching for an answer has not yielded easy results. While some have pointed out the large number of views JCB has gathered while digging videos on YouTube, others have traced the origin of a video of a Chhattisgarh groom who took a JCB, instead of a horse, to get to the wedding.

“JCB khudayi jokes are so subtle yet so funny. Apparently the jokes are about people being out of work to watch JCB videos on YouTube with these videos getting millions of views,” a user said. Twitter.

But it’s not just on YouTube that people like to watch the machine at work, in the real world too JCB digging tends to entertain local crowds across the country.

“Divided by Hindu-Muslim ki ladayi United by JCB ki Khudayi,” wrote another Twitter user.

On Twitter, #jcbkikhudayi remained a major trend on Tuesday, but memes related to JCB’s digs also made way for other social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram.

Weird memes made of photos of cricketers, politicians and actors with the caption – “Wo dekho bhai, #JCBKiKhudai chalu hai” – are going viral on social media.

A meme shows cricketer Virat Kohli looking shocked – “RCB nahi, JCB” – and mocking his Indian Premier League (IPL) team, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

JCB India is not complaining about the attention it gets on social media.

“We are truly touched by all the love shown for our brand with #JCBKiKhudai. Thank you to our customers and fans across India for your enthusiasm and support! With JCB you can #WaitMore. #JCBKiKhudayi,” tweeted JCB India.
