Professional online networking services can often be difficult to navigate. Some people may find it overwhelming, overwhelming, and perhaps too prevalent. While there are people who enjoy large-scale professional networking platforms like LinkedIn, others may prefer the more traditional face-to-face networking experience.
However, due to the current pandemic, almost all networking has had to be done online. Unfortunately, most online networking platforms lack the personal touch that in-person networking allows. With that in mind, Cooper promotes itself as a private networking app that replicates the trusting and personal environment associated with in-person networking.
It is a free application
Cooper – Professional Network is an application (available for free on Android and iOS) that allows users to meet privately with other professionals online. The app works to ensure that all connections made are reliable, meaningful, and trustworthy. Unlike other online networking services, Cooper works on “introductions”. With this feature, users can connect online as they would offline. You can take the initiative to introduce yourself to other people, or a loved one can suggest a presentation between you and someone they already know. With this, users can be confident that every connection made is desirable and personalized.
About the company
The company was founded in 2018 by CEO Robert Gaal and CTO Emiel van Liere, and is currently based in San Francisco as well as Amsterdam. Cooper recently celebrated its international launch and is also proud to announce that they have successfully raised a total of $ 2 million in seed funding. They are currently backed by a number of distinguished investors including Comcast Ventures, LocalGlobe, WeTransfer and many more.
Cooper co-founder and CEO Robert Gaal said he believes it is crucial to develop and maintain professional relationships, especially in today’s stressful economic conditions. He also adds that âWith Cooper, we are building a whole new kind of professional presentation-based network, bringing that kind of personal touch offline online.

- Alternatively, those you know may suggest that you introduce yourself to others.
- Once an introduction has been made, users can easily message each other within the app in order to develop a deeper connection.
What makes them different
Since everything about Cooper begins with doing, responding, or requesting an introduction, users are assured of a truly private and trustworthy online networking experience. The company says this ultimately allows for a “permission-based business network” without unwanted messages or invitations.
Cooper also highlighted the success of their app, as they claimed that many people who have lost their jobs – due to the current pandemic – have already managed to find new opportunities through their platform.
They are different
Unlike other professional networking sites, Cooper promises not to sell ads or their users’ data. Instead, they go to great lengths to make sure that those who use the app won’t be approached by unwanted strangers. In this sense, this private professional networking app has successfully recreated the offline and in person networking experience for online users.
