Start-up ed-tech Harappa published a survey, part of a series aimed at measuring the growing importance of cognitive, social and behavioral skills and giving industry and academia a common vocabulary for assessing students and professionals. The survey will also help institute India’s first Thrive Skills Index. The survey found that 74% of respondents agree that “soft skills” is an archaic term to describe cognitive, social and behavioral skills and 67% believe that higher education is not enough to prepare graduates to work. According to respondents, skillful teamwork is the top skill professionals aim to prioritize in 2022, followed by confident public speaking and effective communication. The three main skill sets sought by professionals are effective prioritization, personal credibility and resilience.
